Hi,

I have made a backup usign ActiveSync.
(to a file called backup.stg).

While installing a new application the handheld locked up needing a hard reset...

Afte setting the device up, i tried to do a restore from within ActiveSync only to recieve the message;

"Restore cannot be completed successfully. The selected backup file was created from a different mobile device."

Does anyone know how I can recover from this?

I Assume you don't live in the US...

You have to set the "region" under "settings" menu to the same "region" your machine was backed up under - otherwise it sees your machine as a different device (when you hard reset it goes back to default ie English USA)

After you change that setting it should work...
