I'm running out of patience with the wait for PPC2k2 SP1 (for ipaq)... ...  ???  ???


Just wondering, what is fixed with SP1? Any important potential bug fixes?

Probably I did mention before that I will wait for Compaq's release on PocketPC 2002 SP1. And just not long ago (20 mins), I have just updated my Ipaq 3850.

I did quite an extensive research on Deja.com, reading any posts regarding pocketpc 2002 sp1 and ipaq. Then I downloaded the file from <a href="http://world.casio.com/euro/ce/download/top.html" target="_blank">here (Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 Update 1)</a>, and read the included SP1 document.

My interpretation of the document is, that in no where, it mentioned the update is specifically for Casio. And with this assumption made, I take that this update is as official as from anyone else (HP or Compaq etc).

But don't take my words fully, I actually take a risk and performed the update. I may be lucky, but I couldn't dare to say the same to other devices. To play safe, wait for official update. If you are still as eager to get an update? Make sure you perform a backup (at least)... and if you're a risk taker, go ahead.

I find after the update done, there is quite a noticable speed increase, and IE rendering is of course, obviously faster.
