Is your USB cradle connected to the laptop or to a hub? If a hub, try
directly.
Can you disconnect the USB cable then reconnect it and fix it?
Look in Computer management under the devices. Any USB issues there?

My USB cradle is connected directly to the PC. I have disconnected the
USB plug and then reinserted and it still gives me the same issue. I
have looked and there seems to be no problems with USB in the device
manager.
The reason why I do not think that it my USB is because it happens when
I use IR also.

Right - so USB is not the problem.
Ok, you might want to "repair" IE on the desktop or upgrade to IE
6.0SP1. Doing a repair (from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
- select IE and one option should be to repair it.) can clean up lots
of IE related issues and AS relies on some IE settings and DLLs to
work.

I have been already using IE 6.0SP1 and when I went into control panel I
saw no option to "repair" IE.
