I have a program that when I exit it it generates an error message "a problem
has occured with device.exe" then goes on to ask if I want to send an error
report to Microsoft.

What could be the problem here? The game is a demo called "Who wants to be a
millionare" that I'm having a play with.

I don't know what causes the error, but you can stop the notification by
disabling eror reporting in Settings/System/Error Reporting...
