Always impresses me when things end up in the smallest possible
package... saw this $8 usb 2.0 microsd reader which may convert me from
sd to sdmicro.

Yea, something else for me to lose! :)

It's amazing how small and how CHEAP these things are getting. 15 years ago,
I was buying 4 1 MB sticks to upgrade to 8 MB... $200. Just to play a game
(Doom 2). Now, I can get a sdmicro card with a TON more storage capacity for
under 50 bucks.

Do you happen to have a link to that adapter? That would make a fun little
project to make a tiny Readyboost drive for internal use. I know they exist
already, but I want to make my own. Any really small! :)

keep shopping... about a month ago found a 2gig microsd with both micro
to mini and micro to sd adapters on sale at frys for $12 ;-)

Dealt with a number of 128 and 256 "KB" pcmcia ram cards back when...
later, (late 90's) ended up writing code for special programmable
warehouse barcode printers which specified battery powered 256k RAM
pcmcia cards to store the printer code and dealt with battery maint
until it dawned that I could use 1meg CF cards with pcmcia adapters...
the printer oem couldn't figure that out on their own.
