I am looking to buy a new pocket pc. I presently have an ipaq 1945. I would
like one comprable in size a screen quality. I am looking for one that can
do the following. I have a razr cell phone with 3g (high speed) internet
access. I would like to pair my phone (via bluetooth, or a cable if there is
no other choice) with a pocket pc & access the internet via my pocket pc but
with my cell phone as the carrier. I do not want a unit where the handheld &
phone are the same unit. Is this possible? Any suggestions? Thanks

It is. There are several tutorials that explain how you can use a
Widcomm-based PDA with a mobile phone via Bluetooth. See for example the BT
tutorials at Geekzone; most importantly,

Hi,
I'm currently trying to do the same thing. I can connect to my 6310i and get
a VERY slow connection to the Internet (9600). If I try the GPRS connection
using *99# (the phone IS enabled for GPRS) I get "subscribe to GPRS first."
I have never been able to solve this, the mobile phone carrier, Orange,
cannot help either.
I also have a Motorola Razr on the 3 Network and can get a 3G connection
with a Laptop and a cable, but not using the Pocket PC and Bluetooth.
Good luck.

Are you using an extra init string for the modem?
