View Full Version : .NET cab file?

I cannot install .NET compact 2 for some reason and I need it for a program.
When installing via Vista Activsync it gets so far then says the file cannot
be installed as it is corrupted. I am sure the file is fine, its the same
as I have used before on the same system.

Is there such a thing as a cab file which I can install from SD card so I
can get the program running please?

do you mean activesync or wmdc?

First, consider that it is corrupted and find a different copy.

You can see if you can find the cab extracted by the sync process
(normally under programfiles\microsoftactvivesync) and, if you can, you
can copy the file to the sd, then tap that using pfile explorer) more

Excellent advice as always. I'd just add in case he doesn't make it to
your webpage, you might want to set the .cab as read-only (using the
desktop file explorer or a 3rd-party PPC app like Total Commander, since
the PPC File Explorer can't) to prevent it from self-destructing upon
installation. I keep the .cabs for all of my important programs in a
"CABS" folder on my storage card to have access to them in case of a total
hard-reset disaster, or if I want to play with a new ROM update.

HI Beverly, I have downloaded the file 4 times and each time it says it is
not a valid file so it must be my device playing silly buggers (or vista).

I looked at the activsync folders but there are so many files there I have
no idea which is the one I have to use.
