John B. Coarsey, PE 12-05-2007, 08:24 AM Twice I have found my unit dead. When I plugged it in both batteries said
zero but data was ok. I docked and began to charge up. In several hours
batteries were ok and it will run for a couple of weeks before this happens
again. During the day it stays in the dock and charges and I turn it off
when I remove it to go home at night. The times I found it dead it was only
out of the dock overniight. The only special app I am running is Pocket
Informant.
I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas. By the way the unit is awesome.

Do you have an SD card installed? It can cause this behaviour. I had
the same problem with my 2790b. I upgraded the ROM to the latest
version which was supposed to fix the problem; it did not. I sent it
in to HP. They could not find a problem but they also reflashed the
ROM to the latest version. The problem persisted. I finally removed
the SD card, bought a larger CF card to hold the extra data and have
not had a problem in the several months since.

yes, I have a Sandisk 1 gid card and a CF 2 gig card. I have all of my
software loaded onto the SD card.

goto aximsite.com and search "fake server hack". See if neutering
Active Sync can solve your problem.

I also tried the fake server hack and manually shutting down
Activesync on the PPC and any other trick that I could find by
searching various web sites. The only thing that worked for me was to
not use a SD card.

My problem is intermittent. Does anyone know what is going on with the SD
card that would create a problem on a random basis?
