Does anyone have any experience/comments on MS Pocket Streets product? Is
it good with Canadian cities? Does it go in detail in locating paces,
including locating any address?

TIA.

It's quite good, I have the 2002 version (actually I bought Streets and
Trips 2002, an AMAZING program, Pocket Streets 2002 is a great bonus). There
are a few "inaccuracies" that might trip you but that is the case with ANY
map. TTYL

I can't speak of Canada, since i'm in California, but i've used both Pocket
Streets, and XMap from Delorme. Both work fine, although i prefer P-Streets.

It's quite good. I run it on iPAQ h1910, and you can zoom right down to the
street level. I have a map covering all of eastern Massachusetts loaded
into the 1910, and it takes up about 8 megs. Just checked Guelph, Ontario
on the desktop S&T, and yes, it has detail all the way down to the level of
a numbered address on a street, so presumably that would load into your
Pocket PC also. It doesn't zoom in and out quite as fast as it does on the
desktop PC, which is understandable given that the Pocket PC has a somewhat
less robust processor. But it zooms fast enough to be useful. Yes, you can
locate any address, and it does that almost instantly.

Does anyone know whether maps are available for Australian cities? I've
looked around as best I can on the Net without luck so far. Alternatively,
could I generate my own maps somehow?

And if you install the latest update from MS, you can locate addresses from
in your contacts.

It is not a bad product. I'd like a little more detail in the maps on the
Pocket PC. I have Streets 2002 but have always preferred Delmore Street
Atlas. However, I have not tried XMAP as I am not ready to throw down more
money for a mapping program. So it is hard for me to compare. I am a little
peeved that Delmore does not offer a Pocket PC solution included with Street
Atlas. Oh well sorry about the tangent...

If you have Pocket Streets or MapPoint you can generate you own maps. Under
the File menu there is a selection to Export Map to Pocket Streets. Be
careful not to select too big of an area though. Tha maps can get quite
large.

Is there a way to do that without cutting and pasting the address from
contacts into the pocket streets & trips??

I couldn't find such an update on the MS Pocket Streets & Trips site.
