View Full Version : Pocket PC Can't Connect to Secure WiFi

My iPAQ rx3115 can receive unencypted WiFi with no problem. But it
can't connect to an encrypted signal even after I enter the right
encryption code.

I know it is the correct code as it works fine with with WiFi and my
laptop.

What could I do to fix this problem?
The iPAQ uses Pocket PC 2003 second edition and a built in WiFi.

Hello,

Have you verified that you are running the correct security settings on your
device? If your Access Point is setup for WEP and your device is setup for
WPA (or vise versa), it will let you put in the key but won't truly
authenticate.

Regards,

For starters, you do realize the PPC wants the 10-digit key and not the
WEP passphrase right?

Just other obvious things to check- try uppercase characters instead of
lower (or vice-versa) in the alpha parts of the key, make sure you're
using WEP (older PPCs don't seem to like WPA- even those that "think"
they support it!), and make sure your key number (1-4) is correct.

Other than that, I'm stumped.
