View Full Version : auto-complete in PIE
Using Pocket Internet Explorer and PIE+ on windows mobile 2003se.
Is there any way to enable some kind of auto-complete in PIE/PIE+ ??
It remembers web addresses, but I would like it to remember for example,
search entries in google, etc.
Linley Meslier 02-01-2007, 10:20 AM I guess you'll need a google plug in for that.

I thought there might be a setting somewhere which I cannot find.
Auto-complete is available in PC browsers, I know these aren't PCs but it
would be a useful function.
Beverly Howard [Ms-MVP/MobileDev] 02-01-2007, 10:50 AM not directly, but, if you go "back" the entries remain.
In additon, if you bookmark a google result page, think it will retain
the search string.

The "back" does work, although is reset after switching off device.

Thanks, I will try that, although don't want my bookmarks flooded :-)
Werner \Menneisyys\ Ruotsalainen [MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices] 02-01-2007, 02:24 PM Only address autocomplete works (including all the alternate PIE plug-ins).
Some of the alternate browsers (for example NetFront) promise form
autocomplete, but, in general, they have never worked in my practice.
Also, unlike on the desktop Windows, there're no third-patrty form
filler-ins.

Beverly Howard [Ms-MVP/MobileDev] 02-01-2007, 04:06 PM You can also copy strings from the box and paste them into a dedicated
note... then copy and paste them when needed.

I might investigate one of the keyboard software I saw the other day, it has
a macro facility. Maybe that would help.

Yes thats the one, I tried it for a little while but uninstalled it because
the keys felt smaller than the normal keys. I will try it again :)

The Resco Keyboard Pro key font sizes can be changed.
