View Full Version : Anybody registered TomeRaider?
timeOday 01-29-2007, 12:26 PM I paid my $38 and all I got was a couple of very generic emails stating
things like the "delivery date" and "delivery street address" of my order.
I was expecting something more like a registration code to unlock my copy.
I haven't found any instructions about their registration process on
their website (including their FAQ), and they haven't (yet) answered my
email.
Anybody know how this is supposed to work? I've put Wikipedia on my
flash card and it seems like it'll be nice once I get TomeRaider unlocked.

Ah, being a user of Wikipedia on a memory card I can assure you that you
are gaining one of the best resources for the PPC, period.
If anyone else is interested, you can download Wikipedia for PPC here:
http://www.tomeraider.com/index.php
As well as off the wikipedia english download page. Also you can get it
from the guy responsible for doing the conversion here ($25, but
supporting him may keep the easy to get updated copies flowing... He
also has a couple varied versions):
http://infodisiac.com/Wikipedia/
( Please note - I am not affiliated in any form with the above. There
are options to get it whatever way you want. )
As for your problem timeOday, it has been literally years since I bought
TomeRaider for PPC - however, I do remember getting the code via email.
It sounds like they are sending you a version on CD instead of
download, but that could just be misleading. Either way, try to get a
new code by going here:
http://www.yadabyte.com/support.htm
Then go to Customer Support, get new unlock key and enter in the email
used when purchased. If that fails they have been receptive to customer
email in the past, although it was a next day response.
Good Luck

Best thing to do is to contact TomeRaider support at
support@yadabyte.com

Thanks, that was the right thing to do. I was thrown off because all
emails connected with the purchase were from proporta.com rather than
yadabyte.com.
I requested a code, they sent it. (The code they sent doesn't work, but
at least I am corresponding with the right people now).

But it takes up loads of space though? 800mb isn't it? Or have I read
wrongly elsewhere?

About 1.1 gig without pictures, either 2 or 4 gig with pictures.
4 gig SD cards are under $50 now.
Werner \Menneisyys\ Ruotsalainen [MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices] 01-30-2007, 12:48 PM It depends on which version you choose - a text-only (which is under 1G) or
one(s) with pictures.

Werner \Menneisyys\ Ruotsalainen [MVP - Windows - Mobile Devices] 01-30-2007, 12:51 PM Sorry, my bad - you'll need a 2G card even for the text-only version - the
<1G one was the 1.5 year old version; the new version posted in October 2006
is 1.1G.
Will accordingly update the Wiki PPC Bible.

Ever wonder why, if the world is getting smaller, Wikipedia keeps
getting larger... ;)
(The preceding was a genuine poor attempt at humor...)
