I have a PocketPC 2005 device. I was trying to view a video on YouTube.com.
Everytime I try I get a message stating that JavaScript is turned off or I
don't have the latest version of Macromedia's Flash Player installed. I went
to Macromedia and downloaded v7 for the PocketPc and installed it. I tried
again to view the movie at YouTube.com and again received the same error
message. Does anyone know anything about this? Could it be JavaScript? I
don't see anywhere on how to enable/disable that or is it a Flash issue --or
perhaps its just not possible to view YouTube.com videos on a PocketPC 2005?

Sorry, theres no flash players that support video for the PPC:

Interesting comment for sure. However, I downloaded and installed Flash v7
for the PocketPC 2005 from Adobe's web site. The thread you reference is
speaking to FlashLite 2.1. I wonder if this means Flash v7 for the PocketPC
has the same limitation.

I only spent a few hours researching it, but that was the conclusion I came
to. The reply says:

"Unfortunately no, Because FL2.1 is based on Flash Player 7 and the
Flash
video content on YouTube is based on Flash 8, Flash Lite 2.1 can't open
up those SWF or FLV files to render them."

Because Flash Player v7 for PocketPC 2005 is also, uh, Flash Player v7, and
it says Flash video content from youtube is based on Flash 8, I deduced that
Flash v7 has the same limitation.

I installed both players, and made a web page at
http://www.waveright.com/tube.html that works fine in my desktop browsers.
In PIE it dosent launch the flash player like
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/downloads/player.html
says it would, and when I downloaded the swf to the PPC and loaded it in the
standalone player, it only played the non-video parts of the file.

Also, while it isn't exactly what you're looking for (real-time access
to YouTube), you might also consider grabbing a copy of something called
vDownloader. Running on a PC, it lets you rip videos from YouTube and
Google Video and convert them into QVGA AVIs which can then be loaded
onto a PPC and played with BetaPlayer or whatever it's calling itself
these days.
