The today screen can only display plug-ins designed for the today screen. You can't just add a random program or shortcut to it. That said, you can add a plug-in that displays shortcuts for you. There are a lot of these type of plug-ins out there, including my Launcher app at http://scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html You can either try installing that one, or looking around for other today screen plug-ins that'll fit your needs. -- Scott Seligman [MSFT] This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights. In addition, if you want to know what alternate apps there are, make sure you check out the roundup "Today launcher/meter plug-ins - the complete roundup " at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=366634 . -- "Teather Mitty" <tmitty@sfs.com> wrote in message news:oglun29bm24b9rgc778a02ltl5dtsh0823@4ax.com... > Can someone explain how to add a program to the Today screen. > > Thanks > > Pierrot 12-13-2006, 06:27 AM I like also the "TrayLaunch" program (by Ph MAJERUS) which permit to launch programs by icons in the menu bar of the today screen (very useful) http://pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=766 TrayLaunch is a part of these powertoys. I have tried a few this week and my favourite seems to be CLaunch http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=808 It needs a little bit of configuration adding shortcuts, the default is to have icons with no names, but in the settings for each tab you can set the icons to have names with them. Teather Mitty 12-13-2006, 11:19 AM Thanks to all who replied. I am trying to add Iguidance to the Today screen. I thought that there must be a way to do it as TomTom has it. Thanks again. Pierrot 12-13-2006, 11:23 AM Yes, it's a solution only if you need 6/8 shortcuts (or the 6/8 most used, for the others you have the program menu and don't forget that each hardware button could have 2 functions ( tap and tap/hold) "torgamm [MVP]" <torgamm@alussinan.org> a écrit dans le message de news: 2550o211feb2erotcndp63d4urf3qko967@4ax.com... > Hello World, on Wed, 13 Dec 2006 12:27:46 +0100, Pierrot wrote: > >>I like also the "TrayLaunch" program (by Ph MAJERUS) which permit to >>launch >>programs by icons in the menu bar of the today screen (very useful) >>http://pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=766 >>TrayLaunch is a part of these powertoys. > > Very good indeed. > But you have to pay attention to the number of processes allowed : if > you put many shortcuts there, you may reach the limit. > -- > torgamm > MVP Mobile Devices : http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ > http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com Beck 12-13-2006, 01:03 PM "torgamm [MVP]" <torgamm@alussinan.org> wrote in message news:2550o211feb2erotcndp63d4urf3qko967@4ax.com... I didn't realise shortcuts would cause a problem. Will they crash the machine? |
