Hi
Have worked with vista beta's and had no problem connecting my ppc
phone using WMDC to sync with outlook. Now I have the RTM version
through MSDN and I can't get Vista to see my ppc. Sometimes when I
start WMDC and on the ppc I start ActiveSync and then connect the
device to USB, I see them both talking to each other but then
everything stops again.
This is a big bummer, because I now can't use my ppc as it was used
to... :-(
Any ideas on how to solve this?

Have you downloaded the Windows Mobile Device Center from MS? Reason I ask
is that the Activ Synch built in to Vista is really rubbish and does not
actually work. You need to download that device center from MS
http://tinyurl.com/ydet3c
Extract, reboot, and plug in device and you should see the new version.
If you have done all this already then ignore my ramblings :-)

Yes, that is the one I downloaded. Unfortunately no results.

Have you got another USB port? Try plugging into that. It will most likely
want to install the drivers again, but as they are already on the machine it
should just detect automatically.

Are you using the Microsoft anti-virus and firewall?
There's a known issue with the Microsoft Firewall that prevents their own
Mobile Device software from working. I don't have the link handy but you
should be able to search the internet and find the workaround for this if
that's your problem.

Gabrie,
I had similar problems. In your device change
Programs-->Accessory-->USBSwitch to RNDIS setting. This seemed to work
for me. Note of caution: For some reason I keep losing this setting.
Hopefully it will help you.
Best Wishes,
