Hello,

I need to create a distribution-list of SMS recipients on WM5.

Is that possible? If not, how can you select several recipients at once
when sending an SMS?

Any recommendations for 3rd-party SMS software for WM5?

Thanks,

- Alan.

Unfortunately, the wm5 designers removed the ability to select multiple
addresses from contacts... there are a couple of kludges.

You can select multiple addresses from the contacts icon that is visible
on the bottom of an sms compose

You can paste multiple numbers separated by a semicolon into a single
mobile number field (field size is limited, so test when finished)

You can build a list of cell numbers separated by colons in notes, then
copy that and paste into the address field

Some email clients allow "rules" so you can set up an automatic forward
of a message to a distribution list.

Web based sms services often provide for a list redirect.

Hi,

A small trick around this is if you sent an SMS once and it is saved in the
Sent Items folder, then next time you want to send the same group with
adding more one or two or deleting some contacts, just tap and hold on the
message that was sent and choose "Reply to All"

Thanks to both of you for the tips. I'm amazed that workarounds are
actually needed for something so obvious as SMS distribution lists. My
6-year-old Nokia Communicator lets me use them, looks like I'll have to
go back to it instead of my shiny, new WM5 PDA.

No-one heard of any add-on software that complements WM5 Phone Edition?

I too am incredibly disappointed that distribution lists are not available
in WM5.
