View Full Version : unable to see ebooks

I have several "lit" ebooks on the SD card in my iPaq. If I use "file
explorer" in iPaq and browse to the SD card, I cannot see those lit
files at all. If browser the "mobile device" from my desktop machine
when the iPaq is in the cradle, I cannot see those lit files either.
If I take out the SD card and put it into a SD drive, then I can see
those files ok. I have not been able to read those ebooks on my iPaq
because they are essentially invisible if viewed on iPaq. Any idea?

Can you see any other files on that SD card while in your iPaq? If
not, the card may need to be formatted inside your PDA. Some devices
(PDA, camera, etc) tended to be a bit wonky and not able to read
anything unless it's formatted inside the devices. Also older PDA may
have trouble with large capacity card.

My PDA current for example can read from 6GB CF card but if I try to
write to it, everything gets screwed up and when I run Scandisk on PC,
I end up with over 1GB of lost files. The older PDA I sometimes use
won't read or write to anything over 512MB.

That is, your PDA can't see the contents of your SD card at all? Reformat
it; if it doesn't help, try changing the formatting parameters (AFT16 vs 32
etc as explained at http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17921 )

I think you folks are correct about this. I have plenty space on this
1 GB card, but when I try to install something to the storage card, it
tells me there is not enough free space on it.

I was wondering if I can get more help on this topic. The pocket PC is
an iPaq 3850. Do you know if it's only able to read FAT16? I managed
to format it to FAT32 but there is a lot of problem reading the card.
