Help!!
Just had a new 22 pin sync socket repaired on my hp 2210 (done by
professional organisation).
I backed up all my information on to an SD card but on trying to
reinstall it not all of my information has been loaded (message on ipaq
kept saying the back up was not made on this system so it may not load
properly) it was but it's not recognised ipaq.
So I've tried to use sync craddle to reinstall the missing programmes
but my computer keeps saying that the ipaq is not connected. I've
checked every lead several times and the yellow light is flasshing on
the iPAQ so I know there's a good connection. What's gone wrong??
I'm using a USB connection from craddle to computer.
2 problems need solving neither of which I can make any sense of:
1) Why has my back up not re-installed everything (should I have reset
iPAQ in someway after repair before re-installing?)
2) Why can't I get the sync craddle to be recognised as connected? I've
tried re installing active synic on computer but no effect

Before you try to restore , make sure that you set your regional settings to
the same as they were at time of backup.

You MUST hard reset your iPAQ before restoration with iPAQ Backup so that it
restores its stuff into an entirely clean device. Also make sure the iPAQ
File Store is empty - if you've also backed it up (and changed the contents
in between)..

BTW, I've just fixed (with a local backup copy on my 2210) a very similar
problem in this very newsgroup for another user. If your backup doesn''t
contain any classified / secret information (I take no responsibility and
the usual legal stuff - I won't distribute it explicitly but, due to the
unsafe nature of Internet, anything can happen) and you can in no way
restore it, I can help with restoring it (for free, of course).
