Help,
I have a HX2795 pocket PC running Windows Mobile 5.0
I'm trying to make a Hawking Compact Flash HCF686tx wired network
card work in the pocket PC running windows Mobil 5.0
The driver that came with it on the CD works with a pocket PC running
windows CE 2.0, but will not work with one running Windows Mobile 5.0
I need to make the CF card work with the pocket PC running WM5.0. I
tried the Hawking website with no luck.
Does any one know where I can get a drive that will work with the
HCF686TX card running WM5.0?
Thanks in advance

>> on the CD works with a pocket PC running windows CE 2.0 <<
and it will probably work on 2000-2002 ppc's but there was a big i/o
change with 2003 and above that broke most i/o devices other than memory
cards.
Unless Hawking made one specifically for the os change, (unlikely)
there's not much hope in finding a solution.

Have you tried the WM2003 drivers from the manufacturer's site? No
idea if you can use them with WM5, but there's definitely more chance
than with the CE 2.0 drivers.

Update:
I have found out that the chip set in the compact flash network card is
DLINK-DL10022A.
Does any one know where I can get a driver for this chip set that will
work with Windows modil 5.0 (WM 5.0)
Thanks

You could simply try all of the DLink WinCE nic drivers that indicate
wm5 support, but it might be time to take a different approach.
CF nics are basically unsupported both because wifi is providing the
primary ethernet connectivity and because the CF slot is now a rarity in
ppc's, so a lot of effort is likely to yield no good answer.
I'm not sure what nics are supported under wm5, but would _guess_ ne2000
compatible and socket brands might be... and, there should be a supply
of these for pretty cheap.
In addition, the netgear travel router provides direct, passthrough
connectivity from any wifi ppc to a wired network...
....I would recommend considering abandoning the hawking card if you do
not find a driver in the immediate future.
