eVC is free (thus less expensive) and more powerful (thus better, at
least for folks comfortable with C/C++). At least some of us use the
same source code for CE and "big" Windows. And we don't need runtimes
for either.

I was under the impression that WM5 (and WM2003 se) did require a download
in order to run eVC apps... Or am I mistaken and that was just the VB
version?

Now I remember - the additional files were for debugging with eVC under WM5,
not actually running.

So you can disregard the previous message.

Still, I would not suggest someone wanting an easy dev system on WM5 to
consider eVC as an "easy" way to develop, for the debugging reason.
Especially if a later version of WM5 SE (etc) drops backwards compatiblity
in some areas.
