View Full Version : Qmail: See mail headers before downloading email?

I am hoping someone might be able to help with this one. I am connecting to
my ISP (when mobile) using a mobile phone, which costs quite a lot of money
to transfer data. I am looking to be able to choose which emails I decide
to download and which to leave on the server until I get home (broadband).
Is there a software available that will do this? More specifically, can
Qmail do this? At the moment when I do a sync, it starts downloading
'eveerthing that is waiting on the pop server'

Thanks

Yes, it can - just make sure you choose "Headers only" in Settings.

BTW, this question has been asked several times in here - you will also make
a newsgroup search.

Hello Werner,

I'm new to all this. Can I also order the group messages (in Qmail) so that
the structure of the list looks more like how Outlook Express displays the
posts?, as my current settings make it difficult to read or determine
replies to a specific message. All the replies (ie Re:) are listed in
between all the new posts and that makes reading the news very difficult.
Do you understand me?? I like to see the original post and all the replies
inside the structure of that post. The way I have qmail setup at the
moment, its a bit of a mess. Can it be set up a better way?

Thanks
Rob

Yes, you can order by subject (or by anything - see row 'Sort by?' in the
comparison chart -
http://www.winmobiletech.com/022006MailerClients/MailerCompChart.html - of
the Definitive Pocket PC Mail Client Roundup at
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=569&more=1 )- just click
the list headers.
