View Full Version : storage card and windows media

I am tired of the windows media player on my pocket pc frequently losing its
playlist and/or the point at which I last paused an audio file when the
source of media is my storage card.

I have a Sprint PPC-6700 and frequently use my 1GB miniSD card to store
podcasts, although having to find where playback left off is increasingly
frustrating.

One of the reasons I bought this phone is to be able to leave my mp3 player
@ home...

Is this a known issue? I have updated my phone to the latest ROM, but the
problem persists. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would appreciate it,
otherwise I'll have to return to my old school mp3 player.

google for third party ppc mp3 players... seem to remember that at least
one supported bookmarking mp3 files.

For audio books and other than very casual audio listening WMP is WOEFULLY
inadequate - as to why they reset the position instead of simply reopening
the file on a power up is beyond my comprehension (Assuming that the unit
has to wait a few ms for the sd/storage card to come online on a power
cycle).

Look for a replacement program for audio use. There are several really
capable players out there, several free, that work quite well. Try googling
for TCPMP or Mortplayer, for starters.

MortPlayer does. Multiple bookmarks in multiple files. Great for spoken
word stuff.
