View Full Version : Required tap interval to insert a row in Excel Mobile too long.

I'm using an iPAQ rx1950 w/ WM5.

To insert a row in Excel Mobile, you can 1) tap the row number in the
margin of the worksheet (which incidentally also highlights the row),
2) tap it again to get the context menu, then 3) tap Insert. New row
inserted. Great.

Only trouble is, there is an unbuffered--ergo frustratingly
obligatory--interval between taps 1) and 2).

My guess is that the processor is busy doing something after the first
tap, and maybe the interval would be shorter on a faster machine.

But to the user, the functionality is simply: I need to tap twice.
Don't impose an interval. And don't KILL my input buffer, ya dopes.

Any comments?

Update:

Newbie error. Newbie is doofus. Ignore thread.

Accustomed to the somewhat limited world of Palm OS and not to
full-fledged pocket apps like Excel, I'm still in a narrower frame of
mind, stylus usage-wise.

I just discovered that, to insert a blank row in Excel Mobile, all ya
do is tap ONCE on the row number. That highlights the row AND pops up
the context menu. (On which tap "Insert" to insert a blank row.)

(The hypothetical complainette remains that, unlike other contexts in
Excel, where two consecutive taps can be done as quickly as you want,
two taps in the worksheet margin must be separated by a long-ish
interval. But at least I no longer see an occasion to do that, at least
for now.)
