Does anyone know the best way to connect the USB to a WinNT machine.
Can't install new software for it. Is there a USB Plug into serial
port adaptor around?

In case of WinNT "the best way" = "no way". The best way is to upgrade to
XP...

Out of the box Windows NT v4.0 does not support USB. There are however third
party solutions that will allow you limited USB support. I am going to give
you a link but understand that I have not personally used the product so I
cannot tell you if it actually works. They claim support for several Pocket
PC Cradles

This solution has been around for a long time.

Hi Alex,

If your e330 craddle comes with a dual-connector power cable (USB and
serial), you might be able to connect your e330 with an NT machine through
serial, just as h5450 and Axim.

Any other ideas?

Regards,

T-Shirt.

Hello T Shirt

Yes, a hardware solution is the only one as my employer will not allow
me to install software to support USB. I was wondering whether a dual
connector or event just a serial cable existed - surely I cannot be
the only person wanting to connect a modern PDA to Win NT???

Many PPC OEMs either include a serial connector with the device or you
can order one from their site.

Hi Alex,

Failing from Ed's suggestion, you might want to look for a 'USB to Serial'
converter and see if it can be used.
