I'm frequently running into problems using Microsoft Activesync 4.1.0
(build 4841) with my Dell Axim x51v.

Every other time it connect to sync it waits for a long time and then
says "attention required". It does not provide any further info. I
don't have time to reboot my desktop and PPC so often. How can I make
it go away???

I'm frequently running into problems using Microsoft Activesync 4.1.0
(build 4841) with my Dell Axim x51v.

Every other time it connect to sync it waits for a long time and then
says "synchronization error". On the PPC it says "attention required"
It does not provide any further info. I
don't have time to reboot my desktop and PPC so often.
Also, some new files are not being synced!!!
How can I make it go away???

Can it be because my computer was in standby mode?

AFAIK, a computer in standby is virtually the same as a computer turned-off.
The only difference is that the computer state is saved so that it won't
need to fully initialize whenever you turn it on.

So, syncing with a computer in standby will be as possible as syncing with a
computer which is turned OFF.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, since I almost never use standby
mode.

Try syncing only one item at a time (eg; contacts), this should at
least help you identify the area of the problem.

Mark,

I would try that, but items list does not appear so I can't sync
anything individually. Like I said, there is no info about where the
problem is coming from.

Okay, this is what I did but you have to have nible fingers.

Turn the mobile device on and connect it via your cable, it will go
through the "connecting" phase, then as soon as it start's the Sync'ing
stage hit "STOP" until it stops. It seems that if you do this quick
enough before it has actually started to try sync'ing it will stop and
let you get to the "Options" option.

I managed to get around the problem by just shutting it off and then
turning it back on while it's still sitting in the cradle.
