I just purchased a WM5 (5.1.70 Build 14410.1.1.3) MDA from T-Mobile. I
was wondering if it (Pocket Outlook)was capable of IMAP IDLE for push
email. I see an option for Send/Receive under Menu and I'm aware that I
can set the device to poll the server every 15 minutes by default, but
if a GPRS connection is open I would hope that this new client would
accept IDLE notifications from an IMAP server. Outlook 2003 and
Mozilla's Thunderbird support IDLE and if Microsoft neglected to include
push support for anything other than Exchange they're missing out and
forcing people to look for a 3rd party solution.
