Hello,

I am pretty good with computers. I can setup a home Wireless network,
etc. That said, I am setting up my sisters Laptop this Weekend. She
only gets 28.8 modem dialup at home so she wanted to use Starbucks to
connect to the internet on occasion. I read that I can use WPA
encryption at Starbucks. Do I setup the computer as open access or a
shared key? And I am assuming that I don't have to use encryption if I
don't want to. Is that correct? She uses this computer at work so I
want to try to keep it setup simular to the way they have it configured
if I can. I have not looked at the computer yet so I am just trying to
get preliminary info.

Thanks,

John

John,

This is more of a question of Windows XP than of Windows Mobile. You may
want to repost over there to get a quicker answer.

The short of it is that the hotspots are by T-Mobile. Once you pay for the
day pass or use an existing account, you will gain access to the Internet.
Connection to the hotspot itself, in Windows XP, is automatic as it is seen
as an open access point.

Hope this helps,
