hi
i manage my budget in excel, the only calculations are =sum() but the
file is very important and I do not want it messed up. Is it safe to
update it on ppc 05 ?

David,
SUM is an accepted calculation in Excel Mobile. That said, I'd make a
backup copy of the file, use it on the device, and verify the changes stick
through the transfer via ActiveSync.
FWIW.... PlanMaker from SoftMaker is a far more robust spreadsheet solution
for Windows Mobile devices. You can read a review on my site
(http://www.clintonfitch.com/reviews/softmaker/planmaker-2004/default.asp)
and can get info at http://www.softmaker.com

Don't want it messed up...
sum is supported, _but_
Suggest you maintain a regular backup of this file outside of your sync
folder... there are a number of pc file sync programs that you can set
up to easily or automatically make copies to a different drive or folder.
There is always the chance that the file will be accidentally altered on
your ppc by something as simple as an accidental tap.
Since so many people have asked what's _not_ supported on pexcel and
most sites are either too general or only list what _is_ supported, I
just created a page listing pocket excel's unsupported functions;
http://BevHoward.com/pexcel.htm
Since I am not an excel user, would appreciate some who are checking the
accuracy of this list.
