View Full Version : Pocket Loox 720 and GPS

Hello
I want to run a GPS solution on my Pocket Loox 720. A salesman in a shop
told me the Pocket Loox is no good for GPS software such as Tomtom etc.
because it has a VGA screen and I should better go for another system
altogether and not use my Loox, because VGA always causes problems.

Anybody has any experience, or can confirm what that salesman said is true?

I use Mapopolis on my LOOX 720 and it works just fine! It looks much better
on my LOOX than on my QVGA rx2415.

The salesman has no clue. I use TomTom 5 (and 4 before that), OziExplorer,
VITO ActiveTrace, VIsualGPSce and GPSDash on my Loox 720 with a Bluetooth
GPS receiver. All applications work perfectly. I tried some of these on an
iPaq with an otherwise good, but only QVGA display. The difference is
enormous, especially when using OziExplorer that uses bitmap.

Sort of...

I had a copy of Navigator PN which wasn't compatible and they have only
just brought out a patch. Most GPS software now works fine with VGA.

I have used TomTom Navigator 3 and 5 quite satisfactorily with a Loox 720.
That salesman is talking out of his a***
