Having lost all programs and data when my battery got lower than expected, I
decided to set ActiveSync to automatically backup to my desktop every time I
sync. Now, when I put my smartphone on the cradle, ActiveSync starts, notes
the items that are not in sync, then backs up. The End.

To resolve the conflicts, I can then manually sync.

Any ideas how I can get the synch to progress as before (analyze AND
resolve) THEN back up?

FWIW, I'm running ActiveSync 4.1 and the desktop is XP with SP2 and all the
latest updates.
