Same result. The iPAQ is not connected at all to the
machine. It seems to be a Windows 2000 problem.

I had the same problem, until i disconnected all my other USB devices and
then the activesync worked!

You're not alone. I have the same problem and I've tried EVERITHING. MSN
have nothing.
Please let my know if find solution, I'll do same. Good luck.

I tried but nothing. Change USB port but nothing. Any other idea?
Do you have PCcillin 2003 on your PC?
