I try to connect my iPAQ 3850 to my Dell Latitude 610.
Each time i start MS ActiveSync and try to setup a
connection, the blue screen appears for two seconds
(telling me something about a KMODE_EXECPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
and the pc reboots. I am running MS Windows 2000
Professional SP3 and i have the latest BIOS updatedfor the
Dell Latitude. I am totally frustrated. Can anybody help
me, please ?

Sounds like a USB driver issue of some sort.
If you can't get USB to work, why not try to use your Latitude's
infra-red port for ActiveSync. That may well work. If the 3850 is
anything like my 3970, there should be a "Connect via IR" option in the
Tools menu of ActiveSync. Line the IR ports up first - the iPAQ's is on
the top of the device.

Well, that sounds like a driver issue. Set the machine to do a memory
dump the check the logs after it has finished. It will likely tell you
which driver caused it.
FWIW, I have Latitude c610 and it works just fine with Win2K(SP2) and
XP. I never had Win2K SP3 on it - moved to XP - but that shouldn't be
the issue.
