I have tried dotpocket, jslandscape, and Nyditot but they each have the exact same problem. None of them will stretch the background picture to the size of the new screen resolution. If you try to use a large background picture (like 640X480) it will either resize it to 240X320 or it will have 50% transparency, both of which make it unusable. The only program that I found that will allow you to correct the background image is VindowsXP (yes Vindows with a V) but the rest of that program is lame.
I can see two fixes for this.
1. Find a way to remove the Today theme native background transparency problem.
2. Find a way to make the background image not auto resize.
I have tried the “use this picture as the background” browse. I browsed to a 640X480 picture. It will use this picture and will even keep it full screen when I change the screen resolution to 640X480 but it become 50% transparent and looks terrible.
I have tried using the Pictures program that comes with the iPaq. You can open a picture and choose the “set as background” and tell it no transparency. But it automatically gets resized to 240X320.
I am using an iPaq h4155.
I would really like to be able to remove the transparency that is automatically applied to the Today Theme. Does anybody know of a registry hack or a piece of software that would do this? Any help would be appreciated!
