G'day all,

I'm using an Avaya wireless card. I have no problems connecting to the net &
receiving mails however I cannot seem to see my iPAQ in my network
neighbourhood. Is it also possible to use activesync via the wireless card ?

iPAQ 3760 w/ expansion sleeve
Avaya Wi-fi card - silver
DLink DI 614+ access point & router

Thanks in advance.

You can't and will not see your iPAQ in Network Neighborhood...

Look at this PocketPC Passion thread for help with wireless ActiveSync over your network...

The first important thing is that you need to do a first time setup using a
wired "cradle" type connection to establish the association between your PDA
and PC.

You will not see the iPAQ in Network Neighborhood, however you will see it
under Mobile Devices under My Computer if using Windows XP.

You should also be able to use ActiveSync via the wireless once you have the
association setup.

Another important tidbit is that the PDA looks for the PC via it's tcp/ip
host name, and in my case, I had trouble with it resolving hostnames, so I
used a freeware program called Pocket Hosts which is the PocketPC equivalent
to a PC Hosts File, so you can tell it the tcp/ip address for the hostname
it is trying to resole if you are having problems.

One final thought, is that my cheapo DLink router / access point does not
seem to serve tcp/ip addresses via DHCP to my PDA (it serves my PC's fine),
although I use the exact same PDA at work and our Novell DHCP server assigns
it an address every time, so make sure your tcp/ip is working on your PDA
before you even try to get into wireless syncing.

Good Luck.

You won't see it in the network neighborhood. Your Connection Manager
settings should have the NIC on WORK to ActiveSync unless you are
using a VPN connection, then it should be INTERNET and the VPN should
be configured under WORK.

Thanks to all, I got it to work by putting the wins address of my notebook
where I'm trying to sync.

It work without a hitch.
