It looks like we finally have confirmation regarding the fate of an official ROM upgrade for the HTC HD2. Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore Corporate Vice President, Windows Phone just said that the HD2 is not compliant with the Windows Phone 7 Series hardware specifications”. It would appear that Microsoft is really sticking to it’s spec’s this time around. While standardization is a good thing for the future of the platform theres a lot of users out there who recently purchased HD2’s and they will not be happy. Also considering T-mobile US have yet to launch this device it will surely effect sales if there is no possibility to upgrade the software in 6 months time.
